Free Trauma-Prevention Workshops & Community Support
We believe true healing begins before crisis, yet prevention is often missing.
The Elephant and Willow Project provides prevention-first trauma education to individuals, families, educators, healthcare providers, and organizational leaders, helping communities build relational wellbeing before crisis occurs.
Too often, those who need mental health education most cannot access it. Affordability should never preclude healing. We’re committed to making evidence-based, prevention-first education accessible to all.
Early awareness programs for individuals, families, parents, educators, healthcare providers, and organizational leaders.
Whole-person healing workshops that address patterns beneath behavior.
Prevention-focused training for parents, caregivers, educators, and leaders that uses a systemic, relational approach to interrupt harm before it begins.
Connection circles that reduce isolation and foster belonging.
Community-based healing that strengthens families, schools, teams, and workplaces.
Intentional connection-building because healing happens in community, not isolation.
At The Elephant & Willow Project, we begin with a trauma-preventive approach. Although most people are familiar or fluent in trauma-informed, we believe trauma-prevention is simply a smarter option. We interrupt harm before it begins by strengthening the relational systems that create wellbeing.
TRAUMA-INFORMED asks:
"How do we respond to trauma with awareness and compassion?"
TRAUMA-PREVENTIVE asks:
"How do we build systems that prevent trauma from occurring in the first place?"
We don't wait for crisis. We prevent it by teaching people to:
→ Recognize patterns before they become problems
→ Build relational health that protects against harm
→ Strengthen systems that create safety, connection, and belonging
Prevention isn't about avoiding all pain, it's about building capacity so communities can navigate life's challenges without breaking down.
That's the difference between managing symptoms and addressing root causes.
To interrupt generational and systemic trauma by making mental wellness education accessible, equitable, and prevention-focused.
We equip individuals, families, and organizations through early intervention, relational healing, and systemic awareness, ensuring that affordability does not preclude healing.
We envision a world where every person, regardless of circumstance, has access to the tools, language, and community support they need in order to heal.
By addressing trauma at its roots, we strengthen relational systems, create resilient leaders, and build thriving organizations. This trifecta invites an pathway to wellbeing for generations to come.
Prevention Over Reaction | We believe the most effective way to reduce trauma is to address challenges early, before they escalate into crisis. Our work focuses on strengthening emotional development and systems upstream, rather than responding only after harm has occurred.
Human Development First | Behavior makes sense in context. We center human development as the foundation for understanding behavior, decision-making, and emotional health, rejecting approaches that blame, shame, or pathologize individuals.
Community Builds Capacity | Healing and growth do not happen in isolation. We invest in relationships, shared language, and collective responsibility, because strong communities create the conditions for long-term wellbeing.
Equity Through Access | Access to emotional development and mental wellness education should never depend on income, zip code, or circumstance. We are committed to affordability, accessibility, and meeting communities where they are.
Respect for Lived Experience | We honor the wisdom of lived experience, especially within under-resourced communities. Our work is collaborative, not prescriptive, and rooted in humility, listening, and mutual learning.
Sustainable Change | Quick fixes don’t create lasting impact. We focus on approaches that strengthen people and systems over time, building capacity that endures beyond programs, funding cycles, or leadership changes.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
✓ Provide free and low-cost prevention programs to individuals and families who otherwise lack access to mental wellness education.
✓ Equip parents, caregivers, educators, and healthcare providers to recognize and respond to relational distress with compassion and skill.
✓ Build equitable systems where healing is the norm, not the exception.
Together, we can create systems that heal instead of harm.
Most people seek help only after crisis, when patterns are entrenched, relationshiaps are fractured, and damage is already done.
Whether in families, schools, workplaces or healthcare settings, we wait until systems break down before intervening. This reactive approach leaves communtities trapped in cycles of crisis management instead of prevention.
Without prevention-first strategies that address relational health and emotional development, we continue treating symptoms instead of strengthening the systems that create wellbeing.
Prevention is our wheelhouse!
At The Elephant and Willow Project, we champion a prevention-first approach to mental and relational health.
We provide accessible trauma-prevention education and relational development programs that strengthen communities before crisis occurs.
Through evidence-based frameworks like Spilling TEA™, Interrupt the Story™, and The AMEND Practice™, we teach skills that help people:
Understand what drives behavior (their own and others')
Build stronger, healthier relationships
Create trauma-informed environments where people can thrive
Prevent relational breakdowns before they escalate to crisis
